(Me, to Elnora a few minutes ago while she ran her Little People style John Deere tractor back and forth on the dog.)

My personal favorite from my life, "Quit running with that fork in your hat!" at a birthday party at church.

Honest to goodness....as a very sheltered 25 year old, brought my newborn son home from the hospital and hubby left to go buy my 'personals'. He came home to find me crying hysterically ...really heartbroken and incredibly frightened. "What's wrong?" he asks, picking up on my panic. "There's something wr-wr-wrong with himmmmmmmm" I wailed! (honest to God!)"Look!". I took off his diaper and pointed. My hubby looked at my face, fell on the floor laughing, crying, laughing. "Honey, he hasn't been circumcised yet!" So he pulls down the sweet little thing's foreskin and says "Does this look more familiar?" .....sob....oh...I'm sooo embarrassed!!

My wife comes from a culture where circumcision is not routine. During one of her pre-natal visits, the nurse asked if we wanted to arrange for circumcision. My wife didn't understand the word, so I explained it to her.

"They want to *what*?!? *Why*?!? Why would *anyone* do that to a child?!?"

After delivery, another nurse came in and asked again about circumcision while she breastfeeding. This time, of course, she understodd the word, and threatend the nurse with bodily harm should she come any closer...
